CHARITY SHOP ASSISTANTS NEEDED

SUPPORT WORKER
Salary: £21K - £22.5K
We are looking for an EXPERIENCED/SUITABLY QUALIFIED PERSON to work as part of a small, friendly and highly successful abstinence-based RECOVERY SUPPORT TEAM in London. The enthusiastic, motivated candidate will share responsibility for the running of a 6-bed long-stay house in South East London, as well as our 16-bed rehabilitation hostel in East London.
ESSENTIAL: Extensive knowledge of 12-step recovery work, along with experience of working with substance misuse and, in particular, drug-using clients. Excellent organisational and administrative skills; a commitment to equality of opportunity; good communication and team-working skills.

CHOICES VOLUNTEERS
Previous experience (or equivalent) with homeless, addicted and isolated people an advantage.
We are looking for ENTHUSIASTIC, FRIENDLY, COMMITTED PEOPLE to join the dedicated staff who help run a service-user led social group called Choices in East London. The enthusiastic, motivated candidates will ideally have previous experience with homeless, addicted and isolated people and will join our current staff to support this growing and exciting social club.
Established in 1965 by Christians from local churches in East London, SPITALFIELDS CRYPT TRUST works with and employs people of all faiths and none. We offer a range of high-quality support, rehabilitation and training services to people facing problems of homelessness, alcohol, drugs, poverty or social isolation. In partnership with Hackney Drug and Alcohol Action Team we offer aftercare services for people in Hackney and the neighbouring boroughs. We now run the following group: Friday Evening: Service user-led social group for people in recovery from substance abuse problems.
About Choices
Attendees come from various backgrounds and are in recovery from substance addiction. They may also have a history of homelessness. They are in need of friendship and welcoming as they make the step to come to a social group with similar people. The youngest members are probably 30 years old.
We are seeking people to help support this group - to welcome, encourage and befriend. A listening ear would be a real advantage as well as being a good role model and an encourager. The group runs every Friday for approximately 25 people a week from 5:30 PM to 8 PM. We would be seeking a weekly or fortnightly voluntary commitment during those times.
The evenings often include:
• Group therapy
• Food
• Badminton (occasionally)
• Quizzes
• Bingo nights
• Poetry Group
The social club committee also organises weekend social events.

BOARD OF TRUSTEES - SUB GROUP MEMBERS
Voluntary, unpaid position

Spitalfields Crypt Trust aims to help people who are facing problems of homelessness, addiction, poverty or social isolation, to put their lives back together through the provision of a range of high-quality support, rehabilitation and training services.
We are currently recruiting up to 8-10 voluntary Sub Group Members to support our Board of Trustees. While prior board/committee experience is desirable, it is not essential. All Sub Group members need to have strategic skills as well as a passion for our client group. Applicants must have a desire to comply with the Ethos and Values of the Trust.
Our ideal candidate will have real empathy and rapport with our service users as well as considerable experience/knowledge of some or all of the following;
• Drug and alcohol addiction/Project delivery experience
• Fundraising
• Finance
• Human Resources
