The Accidental Hipster – Out Now!

It’s finally here! Hot off the presses, our much anticipated magazine, The Accidental Hipster (TAH), is out in print. You can also download your copy right now! (PDF, 5Mb)

It’s been a six-month mission to chronicle SCT’s activities in and around Shoreditch, and it’s great to have the finished article here at last.

Inside we explain the enigma of a rehab located in the heart of East London’s bar scene – the title is a reference to the dramatic changes in our neighbourhood during SCT’s 50 years here.

There are stories that reveal personal transformations in recovery from addictions, features on our social enterprises Paper & Cup and Restoration Station, a fashion spread from the clothes rails of SCT’s charity shops. There are also insights from our front-line team who support people in their recovery.

The first article is written by and about Michele Kirsch, Editorial Director of TAH. An accomplished journalist who blogs on recovery in her own unique style, Michele committed huge amounts of time and energy to make TAH a reality. Thank you, Michele!

Designer Karen Balest pulled all the content into beautiful shape and collaborated with local artists to give the magazine its stylish good looks.

Thanks also to the many others who contributed their photography, neighbourliness, stories, time, money, and goodwill to make this feat of collaboration happen:
