Cooking Course

"It has changed my eating habits a lot. I'm now buying fresh food."
New Hanbury Project Student

Bernadette Forde works as a volunteer at the New Hanbury Project but is also the Head-Chef at the Water Poet and they kindly allow us to have her teach the cooking course for us each week. She is the best cook in town and now our students can be as well!

Our classes are held once week and students are taught:

  • Food hygiene
  • How to use kitchen utensils and appliances
  • Healthy food options
  • Planning and making a meal
  • How to follow a recipe
  • How to cook at home

"I like the course. Seeing what we have made and eating it is great. I am going to bake another yogurt cake."
