“Some of the things I have done in drama and music have not only been very enjoyable but they have made me realise that I have so much potential and creativity that will enable me to enjoy life in the future.”
New Hanbury Project Student - IanS in "Whispering Trees" by MyStory
Students involved with music at the New Hanbury Project are able to:
Learn new musical skills
Build up their confidence and self-esteem, encouraging them to tackle other training courses
Have fun and express themselves through their music
Improve their social skills and enjoy the therapeutic benefits of music
We offer individual guitar lessons and the students have also formed a band called Alive-in-the-City and they meet weekly to practice. They play for other students and staff members at the project as well as performing outside gigs.
