Help the Homeless at Christmas

Christmas is a time when many of us are moved to help homeless people.

Sadly homelessness and addiction go hand in hand. Each can lead to or perpetuate the other.

SCT's holistic model of support aims to help people get off the streets and into a safe home, abstinence and a structured addiction recovery programme. We will continue to support people to rebuild self-confidence, learn new skills, make new friends and reconnect with family.

16 people are experiencing this transformation today.

What you can do to help:

Give unwanted warm clothing to distribute at our homeless drop-in. Just take items to one of our charity shops and mention the drop-in.

Make a donation to help transform someone's New Year.

Make SCT your Christmas charity at work: if you're holding a collection or any other fundraising activities, please donate the proceeds to fund our services.

Sign up for a sponsored event to raise funds and get fit in the New Year.

Buy a restoration token or other gifts from our vintage furniture project - Restoration Station. You can also commission the workshop, or donate unwanted furniture.

Catch up with friends at our Paper & Cup coffee/book shops in Shoreditch and Poplar.

Bring any unwanted gifts to our charity shops and pick up a bargain while you're there.

How your money helps

  • £20 pays for one person to attend a group addiction counselling session
  • £40 funds two sessions of our employability course where people in recovery from addiction are supported with personal and practical help in getting back to work
  • £100 gives a person in recovery the opportunity to attend a whole term of an introduction to IT course
