Spitalfields Crypt Trust

SCT is marking this year’s World Homelessness Day with a Sleep Out in the churchyard of Christ Church Spitalfields on 18 October 2019.

Over 1,200 people across London are sleeping rough – that’s almost a third of the total number across England. And here at SCT, we see over 500 people a year visit our Homeless Drop-in.

You can take action against homelessness by experiencing a small taste of the difficulties many people sleeping rough have to deal with.

We’re encouraging people to give up their warm beds for a sleeping bag to raise £350 from colleagues, friends and family to help local people trapped in homelessness and addiction change their lives.

On the night, you will hear from some of the amazing storytellers and former SCT residents and students and find out more about some of the challenges they have faced.

Be one of the first people to bed down in the churchyard and register for this special event by registering below OR click here!

We have limited places for this extraordinary night, so hurry, sign up and support your local East London charity!

For anyone who would like to participate in our Sleep Out in another way please contact mike.coffey@sct.org.uk for more details and your very own fundraising pack.

Who is SCT?

We are an East London based charity that helps people facing addiction and homelessness transform their lives.

For over 50 years we have met the needs of our local community, serving the most vulnerable and disadvantaged in society, motivated by our inclusive Christian ethos.

People coming to us often have multiple and complex needs. Many will have experienced homelessness, poverty, mental illness and the criminal justice system.

We aim to address peoples’ needs holistically – from housing, employability, health to social connections – all of which need careful attention to make sure people recover in the long-term.
